Day 1: From Marrakech to Boumalne Dades (330km / +7.5H)

The 3 day Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour start when meeting and greeting you at your accommodation in Marrakech at 8am, or pick up you from airport and start travelling to the Dades Valley via the Tizi n’Tichka (2260m) Pass and over the High Atlas Mountains.

Today in this 3 day Marrakech to Fes desert tour you will enjoy travelling through the dramatic pass and the fascinating views of the Berber villages and the amazing landscape changing as the day progresses. Your first stop will be at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah , the largest Kasbah in Morocco. Built by the last Berber chieftain El Glaoui Et-Hami in the late 13th century, it is now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, which today still houses many Glaoui family members. you will have a guided visit in this fortified Berber village here you will feel like you are a movie star .

Lunch by the Kasbah and continue to Ouarzazate city famous for cinema and movies such as Game Of Thrones, Gladiator, Lawrence Of Arabia… The journey continues to Dades Gorge through the road of ”the Thousand Kasbahs“, which offers many fine photo opportunities of nature . You will make a stop in the oasis town at Skoura in the birds valley to see the standing 18th century Kasbah of Ameridhil, we’ll get to Kalaat Mgouna – famous for pink roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May then Dades valley . For the first night in the 3 day Marrakech Sahara trip at Dades Gorge.

Day 2: From Boumalne Dades To Merzouga Desert (270km / 6,5H).

Today we’ll start our desert trip from Boumalene Dades after breakfast, We head to Merzouga desert through the Berber village. Tinghir is a charming city by Todra Valley and palm tree droves.

We will visit the famous Todra Gorge where the cliffs are as high as 300m and only 10m apart. you have a chance to walk in the hiestest canyon in Morocco. We leave Todra and pass through many other Berber villages such as Tinjdad where we can stop for lunch or if you prefer continue to Rissani where you could have the local specialty Berber Pizza for lunch if we get there by midday.

After lunch we make our way to Merzouga Sahara to meet the camels who are waiting for you to join the camel trekking experience. The camels take you to a Berber camp in the middle of Erg chebbi golden sand dunes. The south east of Morocco desert is as large as 35 km long and 5 to 8 km wide, It’s also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment.

There we set up the Berber tents with an additional restaurant and kitchen with western toilets. The tents are well equipped and we provide mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner you gather around the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drums. You also have the chance to participate in playing Berber traditional drums. you will be free to walk on sand dunes to see a magic starry sky with a high chance to see a shooting star.

Day 3: From Merzouga to Fes (463km / +9H)

Today will start before sunrise. You will wake up to see a beautiful sunrise. The dunes are very orange with sunshine. After Breakfast, the camels will take you back to Merzouga while enjoying the landscape of the real desert.

Leave Merzouga and start a long journey to Fes passing through. Erfoud , fossils and dates city. drive beside Ziz valley, one of the longest and largest valleys in Morocco. The valley has hundreds of palm trees. Make some stops for pictures. The trip continue to Errachidia city then to the High Atlas mountains. lunch will be in Midelt city, the capital of apples. After midday, We will drive to the village Zaida and Azrou Cedar forest to meet the wild monkeys in their natural habitat. Continue the trip to Ifrane known as Moroccan switzerland. the most beautiful and clean city in the country. The final destination will be in Fes. where we drop you off in your Riad Commendation.
